Name: Kayla Rodrigues

Title: A&R Strategist

Describe your role: I am a member of the Audience and Revenue team. I work on internal projects across marketing, human resource management, and operations. Some of my main responsibilities include the development of job descriptions and recruiting materials for open positions and assisting with operations throughout the hiring and onboarding process.

Where are you located? I live in Boyds, MD with my fiance and my two dogs!

Where did you study? I have a BBA in Marketing from James Madison University. I also played on the club volleyball team throughout my four years at JMU.

What do you like most about working at Camber? I enjoy the open dialogue that I have with my teammates and having the ability to make decisions about how I think a task should be carried out. Even though I’ve only handled internal tasks, I always feel like my work and time are valued. I just started working at Camber a few months ago and I already feel welcomed as part of the team. I also am lucky enough to work at Camber with my older sister Jenna!

Tell us a fun fact about yourself: I used to be on the show Blue’s Clues as a child! In my spare time I enjoy hiking, trying new sushi restaurants, and playing on my intramural volleyball team. I’m also getting married this upcoming June :)

Favorite Camber moment: Creating the Job Description spreadsheet and posting my first job to LinkedIn and Indeed! I was given the opportunity to write up our new job descriptions from scratch and knowing that the hard work I put into these postings will directly result in us hiring great new people is extremely rewarding. I firmly believe the people make the company and Camber has some GREAT people — and even more to come!

What are you passionate about? I’m passionate about marketing, entrepreneurship, business operations, and resource management. I love being involved in the initial steps it takes to welcome new resources onto a team and having a direct impact on their introductory experience to the company. Aside from my work-related passions, I’m very passionate about creative endeavors such as event planning and interior design.

What types of projects did you work on before finding Camber? Prior to finding Camber, I mainly worked on projects related to Project Operations and Resource Management. My work mostly focused on onboarding processes, internal communications, and project quality. I’ve also done work as a technology analyst on Salesforce projects where I earned two Salesforce certifications.

What do you like to do for fun? In my free time, I play on an adult volleyball team, work on the interior design for my new house, travel to new places (mostly Disney World), and take care of my two dogs — Kona and Laney!
